Stonekraftz has the experience and expertise when it comes to brick and stone restoration on historic or landmark buildings in NYC and the greater Metropolitan area. We have preformed extensive restorations on several brownstones and pre-war constructions. Matching the color and texture of new stone or bricks with old ones presents serious challenges that require the skills of a talented artisan. Stonekraftz has met these challenges and exceeded customer expectations. When the brick or stone is restored, the repairs are usually unperceivable.
Stonekraftz also specializes in restoring irreplaceable doors and window frames to their original state. We often remove the wrought iron doors, sandblast them to remove the layers of old paint, zinc coat them, and apply two layers of enamel. This process reduces the liklihood of chipping, cracking, and fading of the exterior. The zinc coating provides an added layer of protection against rust. This delicate process must be carried out by a patient and learned artisan. On original wood frames, when possible, we restore damaged or worn wood and paint or stain them with polyurethane to restore their natural finish
